The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) has revealed the initial group of innovative start-ups that will participate in two new business support initiatives focused on assisting digital and quantum technology start-ups in achieving success on a global scale.
Seven pioneering start-ups from the UK have been chosen to take part in the Digital Incubation Centre (Digital BIC) and the Quantum Business Incubation Centre (QuBIC), which are specifically designed to empower early-stage technology companies to realise their full potential.
Meshing plays a crucial role in engineering projects by constructing a grid of interconnected points and elements that define the structure and shape of the object under analysis. This grid is indispensable for simulations and analysis across various industries such as aerospace, automotive, and civil engineering.
By developing a new meshing algorithm for high performance computing (HPC), the time required to generate 3D mesh digital models has been significantly reduced from eight hours to just five minutes. Typically, this process is time-consuming and can consume up to 90% of an engineer's workload.
Efficiency is paramount in the realm of engineering projects, with a focus on optimising processes and leveraging cutting-edge technology to maintain a competitive edge. Utilising advanced meshing software is a crucial component of this efficiency strategy.
